no really i love my children

"I love my children" sounds really nice when you say it one time, but if you chant it over and over for like 5 minutes, it starts to seem kind of scary.

Here's a lineup of the last two weeks.

No nap
No nap
No nap
No nap
No nap
No nap
No nap
No nap
No nap
No nap
No nap (plus it was Halloween.)
NAP!
NAP!
No nap

This is just mean, dude. You have your streak for just long enough that I buy a Costco bag of coffee beans, a huge thing of microwave burritos, and buckle down to get it the fuck on. Then you give me two days with a nap. THEN. THEN!

Chicken. You skipped your nap again today.

We were DONE with this. What have I done? What did I do wrong today? Was it daylight savings? Was it the fact that I let you watch Dora during lunch?

And Buster isn't sleeping well. He woke up 7 times last night, and took 90 minutes to fall asleep for a 35-minute nap this morning.

At this exact moment both my children are awake and screaming.

At this exact moment I have said adieu to my to-do list.

At this exact moment I'm setting the timer. I have 4 hours until Chicken's bedtime.

At this exact moment, I'm thinking:

I love my children I love my children I love my children I love my children I love my children I love my children I love my children I love my children I love my children I love my children I love my children I love my children I love my children I love my children I love my children.
