the little engine who waited for godot

Chicken requested that I read "The Little Engine that Could" at naptime,
and then he ended up reading it to me.

But his version of "The Little Engine that Could" was a little more
Absurd than the one first published by Watty Piper in 1930...

chug chug I am a train

I have all these toys
that dance
they dance dance dance
they have to dance

like the clown
he's dancin
but he's tired
too
so tired
and the other guys
they're thirsty
see
but they have to dance

and so are the milks
dancin
a marchin dance
they can't stop

but then the train stopped
oh no
we're broken

but don't worry guys
Thomas is comin

here comes Thomas
oh no

it's not Thomas

but don't worry
Thomas is comin

here he comes
oh
no
it's not Thomas either
it's just
another guy

but
but
I think Thomas is still comin

yeah
Thomas is comin
of course he is
don't worry
don't cry
even though you're sad
because
Thomas isn't comin
oh no
oh no
where's Thomas
he's not comin

Thomas is comin
don't worry guys
said the egg

here he comes now!
Me: Wow! There's Thomas! He finally came!

no
he didn't
they're
just dreamin
(sigh)

“We always find something, eh clown, to let us think we exist?”
